Top Gear lead presenter Jeremy Clarkson is in hot water and quite rightly so after a video showed him using the N-word during the filming of the show.
In what looks like-hearted chanting, Clarkson does an eeny meeny miney mo thing and uses what sounds like n-word in it all when he apparently mumbles ‘Catch a nigger by his toe.’
Clarkson says he unsuccessfully tried to obscure the word.
But why is he even using the word or using that reference at all. You can say you tried to obscure it but why are you using it? We do not even approve of black people using but why would you even use that Mr Clarkson. You could have said ‘inky pinky ponky’.
This is not to suggest Clarkson necessarily is a racist but that was not the cleverest thing to say.
We love Top Gear and Clarkson is a major reason why but that sort of behaviour should have significant consequences.
