VIDEO: Real Zimbabwean Women Share Postnatal Depression Experiences

A touching video is out detailing the experiences of Zimbabwean women who suffered from postnatal depression.

It is called Am I Not A Mother  and women share the horrific things they went to when they gave birth some of which even went to the extent of  rejecting their own children.

According to the American Psychology Asssociation affects 9-16%. For women who experienced it after the birth of a first child the rate goes up to 41%.

It’s viral that things of this sort are shared. Sometimes people feel like the odd-one-out or that it is first world condition. Knowing it happens to someone just like you makes it slightly easier to deal with it.
