STIs may become untreatable – experts

Health experts have issued a warning that the cases of  anti-biotic resistant sexually transmitted infections(STIs) may result in there not being treatment in the future.

Neisseria gonorrhoeae Bacteria

The The Public Health England (PHE) in London warned that if cases of the ‘super gonorrhea” strain continue then we could be faced with a grim picture.

This is because there are currently no new drugs to treat cases.

The advice? Safe sex.

The key thing is that while 34 infections were found between November 2014 and April 2016 the rate could be here as there are often no signs of one being infected.

Which means it could be spreading among people who do not practise safe sex.

Grim as that sounds, there is hope that we could end up finding treatment for these new strains.
