A new study from our friends in thick rimmed glasses and white dust coats with pen in the top pocket has said moderate drinking could result in an increase in the risk of getting breast cancer.
The study in the British Medical Journal found that light drinking which is essentially one glass of wine per day for women and two per day for men only slightly increased the risk of cancer across the board. A daily light tipple did increase risk of breast cancer for women though.
The finding was made from data collected over 30 years of 88,084 women and 47,881 men.
Also key was that the increased risk remained the same whether they smoked or not.
So remember when they said a drink a day was awesome. Well maybe not so much.
