A study has shown that going to the toilet for a number 2 is actually good for your mental health.

The study was looking at the correlation between chronic diarrhoea, constipation, and depression in individuals.

Lead author Sarah Ballou said it was found that those who did not move their bowels often had poor mental health.
And the explanation is simple. The happy hormone, serotonin, originates in the gut. In essence, if your gut is happy, you’ll be happy too.
