People with a strong grip in a handshake are less likely to develop cardiovascular diseases a new study says.
The study, published in the journal PLOS ONE, found that people with stronger hand grips were often pumping more blood per heart beat despite having a lower heart mass.
It showed that the heart muscle was suffering less from a process called remodeling or reshaping which is cause d by cardiovascular complications and stressers.
Steffen Petersen, Professor at the Queen Mary University in Britain:
Our study of over 4,600 people shows that better hand grip strength is associated with having a healthier heart structure and function.
Just don’t go trying to squeeze life out of people hey. Because that is just not a nice thing to do.
