19 returnees on the run after escaping Covid-19 quarantine facility in Gweru – MP

The city of Gweru has been put on high alert after 19 returnees whose Covid-19 status is unknown escaped from a quarantine facility.

The breakdown of the 19 is 15 men, three women and one baby. They escaped from Mkoba Teachers College on Wednesday.

The news was revealed by Gweru Urban MP Brian Dube.

He cautioned against allowing people one has not seen for 21 days to stay in premises and encouraged reporting to the authorities any strangers in the neighbourhood.

The news comes as Zimbabwe recorded a jump of 76 cases of returnees who tested positive for Covid-19 at quarantine facilities. This brings the number of confirmed cases including the ones concluded to 132.

Why one would run is so weird.
