A video is doing the rounds on social media which shows what is alleged to be a Zimbabwean man being assaulted by two women over alleged adultery.
The most aggressive part is when a woman Lettie is egged on by another woman off-camera as she lays into the man sitting on a sofa with slaps. The man does not hit back as all of this is captured on camera.
The video comes in the middle of 16 days of activism against gender-based violence and it speaks to issues of abuse of men by women. Domestic violence is often dressed in the cloak of men beating women up but very little is said of things of this sort.
Mind you, if a man was hitting a woman, this would be a much bigger story. As it stands
- they will say he deserved it
- they will ask questions about his manhood
- men will laugh at him for being hit by a woman
- some will say, well he was just being hit by a woman
- others will find it funny
