Zimbabwe was gripped yesterday evening by talk of an Unidentified Flying Object.
It’s the new thing in these parts you see. We had flying witches the other day and then there were more UFOs a few months ago which turned out to be US made weather stuff.
Then yesterday evening according people all the three Mashonaland provinces spotted a flying object bigger than the moon.
According to the state broadcaster, ZBC, the objects were spotted as far as South Africa, Botswana and Malawi.
Word?
Well we guess the words Unidentified Flying Object cover it but the theories we have heard would make a prude apoplectic.
Most of our folk most of them felt that it was all down to some mudzimu stuff while the urbs started talking about life on other planets. Then we are pretty sure someone out there thinking it was some sort of judgement day thing and aligning it to some convenient scribed thought.
Look we are as keen as anyone else to find out what this is. We naturally are keen for the sensational as much as anyone else, but after seeing so many red herrings the boy has cried wolf too many times. If something is going to be randomly seen by people and we can’t explain it then soon enough people will start making up stuff.
Perhaps some satellite falling out of the sky.
But appearing bigger than the moon?
