Cuthbert Dube’s Salary Slashed But…

It feels a little like a knee-jerk reaction but  Premier Service Medical Aid Society boss Cuthbert Dube has had his monster salary revided down.

Sources say a meeting held last night resolved to reduce his eye-popping $230,000 a month (250,000 according to some sources) down to about $60,000. This figure is not confirmed but it frees up a lot of money for the company.

We also were told that his PA was earning about $15,000  a month and that has also been looked at.

There is an indication that the salaries could get another look soon and be revised further down after the government looks at realigning organisations it has interests in.

What is the issue here however is not really the salary. The fact that the company owes $38 million should be a damning indictment on the company and its board. At this point there should be a closer inspection of decision makers and whether they serve the interest of the company and of course clients.

Astronomical salaries happened under their watch and simply slashing them won’t mean that everything is back to order again.

As usual, noone really wants to ask those questions, unless they are Jonathan Moyo.

Next stop, what are these other bosses in government lined enterprises getting? This, we want answers for.

Just a quick side note…  Shout out to the Zimbabwe Mail for breaking this story last year. We all kinda slept on it.
