Zim’s DJ Icytat wins Afrima Award

It was a big night for Zimbabwean DJ Icytat after he won the Africa Music Award (Afrima) for Best Artiste/Duo/Collaboration in African Electro, beating the likes of Black Coffee, Mi Casa and Maphorisa.

In speaking exclusively to 3-mob.com the ecstatic Icytat said:

I was so shocked, ecstatic and nearly fainted. I am thankful to God, my family and every single person who voted. The category the song was placed in was really tough. Just getting the nomination was amazing enough because Africa has major heavy weights in the African Electro/ House genre.

I am also thankful to SuCh the US based vocalist I did the collaboration with for the the opportunity I got to work with her.

Big moment for Zimbabwe.
