Nkululeko of Ara Kani:

I am really excited and humbled to be showcasing at the South African Menswear Week this Spring/Summer 2016/17 season. I have always wanted to be a part of this forward growing movement and i am glad that my team a has pulled this through. I look forward to representing Zimbabwe and that young person who has the same dream i had a few years back.

We have worked hard on Ara Kani and it is high time the brand gets enough recognition and also stand out as one of the best street wear brands. The collection to be showcased highlights a little bit on a rebellious young person, but in a very wearable way. Expect to be blown away and outstanding collection with a clear understanding on the theme. We have everything thought of, from styling to each garment.

Still housing two full show spaces, the experience has extended to an all encompassing fashion night out for guests, whether they attend all the shows or not. For those wishing to be surrounded by – and network with – the top fashionistas, media and celebrities, there will be showrooms, additional lounges, new standing areas and activations. Further fabulous add ons include shopping schedules (worked around the shows), trends talks and panel discussions  Limited tickets for most shows will go on sale at Webtickets

South African Menswear Week is the continent’s most credible fashion week platform, and combined with the goals of the promotion of South African designers, both locally and abroad, is ushering in the next wave of truly mega labels.   People are already asking for, and buying, young designers such as Lukhanyo Mdingi, showing the new “pull model” implemented by SAMW leaves other platforms in the stone ages.”  – WWD
