A documentary called Wild Capture School will show on Animal Planet in February 2016.

wildcaptureschool

The show description is as follows:

Once a year in Malilangwe, Zimbabwe, students from a variety of different nations gather to learn the art of darting and tranquilising wild animals from some of the most legendary wildlife vets on earth. Each episode looks at different species such as elephant, buffalo, giraffe and lion, and the different techniques used to tranquilise them.

From the teaser it is a pretty intensive training exercise and looks engaging to watch. A good blend of theoretical and practical instruction taught by legendary vets. Great to see such efforts taking place in Zimbabwe with respect to conservation.

The show begins 7 February and 1820hrs with a double episode. Channel 183 on DStv.
