Zim DJ Rob Macson To Release Single With US Record Label

One of Zimbabwe’s finest young house DJ’s Rob Macson has just had his latest single snapped up by US Recording Studio Detox Recordings, LLC.

House music production is not a big thing in Zimbabwe but the new track Inferno is being touted by some as a monster track already.

It is set to be released on 5 March. It has a tragic story behind it though. Macson wrote the song with his friend Christessa who died shortly after the song was recorded.

Said Macson:

This track will mean that Christessa will continue to live on through the power of her voice, and enrich the lives of everyone who listens to the tune, much as she did for her family and friends.

The major release of the track will be in the UK, the US and online. Proceeds will go towards the Zimbabwe SPCA.

We had the chance to catch Macson on his decks in December at the Zimfest party and the young man is onto something. He has already done with fellow Zimbabwean acts having remixed Reverb7’s Honai last year.
