After just returning from Belgium last month from a well received live performance at TEDxUHasselt in Belgium, Zambezi News is at it again.

ZambeziNewsTeam

Zambezi News team Comrade Fatso aka Samm Farai Monro, Outspoken aka Tongai Makawa, and Michael Kudakwashe are traveling to Berlin, Germany to perform live at the prestigious Re:publica event and Henrich Bolle Foundation from May 2 – 4, 2016. The trio is set to perform two live shows in front of major audiences and engage in panel discussions around the role of digital activism and satire in fighting for democracy in Zimbabwe.

This tour comes at a fitting time as Zambezi News was just named one of the top seven internet video outfits in Zimbabwe by leading technology magazine TechZim.

We can’t wait to perform our brand live show out in Germany with some incisive new jokes and skits! We are also really looking forward to sharing with the world how Zambezi News is using the internet to spread its message in a repressive climate.

Re:publica is one of the largest conferences about digital culture in the world as last year’s event saw more than 7,000 visitors. Those who attended the event shared knowledge and participated in conversations on the future of the internet. Attendees included activists, artists, scientists, hackers, entrepreneurs, NGO specialists, journalists, social media and marketing experts, and many others. Zambezi News will then perform at the auditorium of the Heinrich Bolle Foundation.

The Zambezi News team will be able to represent the powerful role of satire and comedy in addressing societal issues.

Zambezi News has been growing from strength to strength and gaining increasing global recognition as one of the leading African satire shows. Seasons 1 – 3 have been airing biweekly on DSTV channel Zambezi Magic, reaching an estimate 5.4 million households in Southern Africa. Season 4 is in the editing phase and will launch in the upcoming months. Zambezi News is a production of Magamba Network, a leading Zimbabwean creative organisation.
