Zimbabwe woke up to the sad news that Delroy ‘Scara the Drummer’ Maripakwenda has died.
Scara was famously the drummer in dancehall icon Winky D’s live set as part of the Vigilance Band. He had been with the band since 2014.
Beyond Winky D, he worked with a number of other artists and especially so during the Covid-19 lockdown period.
Scara was also a choreographer and with his dance group came second in the Jibilika competition’s 2020 edition.
Young, gifted and legit, he will be missed.
The cause of his death has not been revealed.
