We’ve just partnered with a poetry platform

So we had a thing we did a few years ago called ThursPoetry.

It had some cool things and some not so cool things. The cool thing was it existed and we shared some poetry which was fire.

The not-so-cool thing was the admin side of it all.

So when we had an opportunity to chat with The Gourd of Consciousness it made sense. They could do the admin that could make sure you got poetry every week and we had the platform that made sure you got the product.

And so here is what Khumbulani Mleya said about partnerting with 3-mob.com:

Gourd of Consciousness Poetry is pleased to partner with social commentary and news site 3-MOB.com to unveil poetry that is written by poets from all over Zimbabwe. The Gourd of Consciousness has a weekly poetry column that has featured local poetry for the past three years in the Standard Style, a magazine section of The Standard newspaper.

And just to give you a little background on it all, Khumbu adds:

The aim is to motivate the poet to evolve in composition and perfomance so as to participate in the evolutionary process of the literary arts of Zimbabwe.

The initiative seeks to inspire literary work that will assist in maintaining generational consciousness and be used as points of reference and study in the nurturing of cultural self esteem and cultural identity.

For 3-mob.com, our Imagineer in Chief and Founding Editor Larry Kwirirayi:

I have always loved poetry and as a poet myself felt the need for the creativity to get out there. Partnering with the Gourd of Consciousness Poetry is part of a wider strategy to make sure we give our readers content we think matters and to keep pushing the reading culture. As our payoff line says, read more…

So weekly new poetry and a bit of a write-up of the artist will appear on this website on Thursday.

Meanwhile connect to us on our socials:

Stay motivated.
