WATCH: The original Mafriq (including Tunga) performing at Jacaranda Music Festival 2019

Oh you can tell we miss people and all that.

So last year, on the 4th of October, 2019, yeah that year that then felt like the worst ever, Jacaranda Music Festival had its opening night at the Hellenic Sports Club in Harare.

The special surprise was the performance by legendary trio Mafriq, for the first time in ten years as a three. Tunga had not shared the stage with them since pretty much early GNU or even pre-that days and for that night he graced the stage with Pauline and Diskord.

It was a vibrant performance where they did Chizevezeve and Ndizvo Chete, two of their most iconic tracks.

Backing them was the super-talented Trust Samende’s Houz of Gruv. Pauline’s ex-husband Roki was on stage too. Many of you will know Samende as the lead guitarist for the trailblazing Mokoomba.

Watch the full performance, well, pretty much, of Mafriq as a group including Tunga at the Jacaranda Music Festival 2019:
