WATCH: Lira speaks as she prepares to return to the stage to sing again after stroke

South African songbird Lira is ready to get back on stage, two years after her live-altering stroke.

“Today marks 2 years since the stroke, and I’m so grateful to be alive and talking and singing. I’ve come such a long way. God is so good!!!” she wrote. “I’ve had an incredible journey and learnt a lot. I’m almost there.”

“Thank you to everyone who has shown me support; thank you for your love and prayers.”

Everyone is really delighted to see her recover so well, and a video she posted is testament to that.

Lira will be performing live with her full band come 25 May 2024, at Bassline Fest Africa Day Celebration.
