POEM
Title: Eagle eye

It is only through eagle eyes
That one can see through the pervading mirage
This ruse that is playing out right before our embattled lives
The appalling miasma, the despairing spectacle
The debilitating deception
That is threatening to implode right before our stunned faces
Like the much awaited but frightening miscarriage of an unwanted pregnancy
Where uncertainty, the unknown are always skulking scarily on the wings
From the back of my bloodshot eyes
I can now clearly see where we were not supposed to have been found
Where, like seeds, we had been buried from the unscrupulous glare of the sun
So that even ourselves could never find ourselves again
Lost in the catastrophe of the balderdash that is playing out before our plagued lives
Thrust into a cavernous pit to lick our grisly lesions, alone
Where our yawning nakedness is there for all to see
Where we cannot be extricated anymore
Right there in the folds of agony
In the wrinkles of desolation
In the horizon of extinction
Right in the heart of purported affection
Kids too can see through this devious duplicity
That this is no more than an enervating stiff!
