Called The Past Is For The Future, it is written by the prolific Stephen Chifunyise, directed by Eunice Tava.

It is a play Chifunyise says he wrote about the arts industry and how it is marginalised in the mainstream economy.

It features a new prodigious talent in Lisa Gutu making her professional debut with a stunning portrayal of three different characters.

All the issues that affect artists and the wider population. The use of power and station to get your way among other things. There are scenes that will make you cringe and those that will make you laugh.

What is a big credit to the director is putting together scenes noone can write. Chifunyise called it a co-authorship. It was the performing arts elements he was impressed with as he called it a perfect rendition.

The performances were candid and powerful and makes it a tragedy that there are not enough stages giving these people jobs.

The play runs until 3 July 2015 with the curtain going up at 7pm.
