THE INTERVIEW: A cheeky stylish lady climbs aboard…

So we are very excited to announce style star Candice Mwakalyelye(from now on The Lady On The Boat) has agreed to become a regular lady on the boat to really, well civilise the lot that have been on it.

She brings her sense of humour, eye for the tasteful and classic quips to the boat and this excites us, like a lot. So she will regularly share her, well, awesomeness while she does what she does else where there the way she gets it done cause she is the one who does the do.

We had the first interview with her and this is what she had to say:

The Lady On The Boat: Such a strange question…. but honestly, why not 3mob? I mean, can you think of a better platform to be heard on? I certainly can’t!

3-mob.com Where do you get your legendary sense of style from
The Lady On The Boat: Oh wow!! I don’t know about legendary. I’m really just learning as I go and having as much fun as possible while I do it. I don’t think style was ever meant to be rigid and stressful. I am guided in some of my choices by what I like as opposed to what everyone is making noise about. It’s done right by me generally, and also to be fair, I have people around me who have helped me understand what goes with my body and what I should never touch again. So they’ve had a lot of influence in shaping the “me,” that people see today.

The Lady On The Boat: People will catch feelings no matter who says what. You really cannot please everyone, but to answer your question I believe Zimbabwe is more than ready to hear what I have to say as well as what the various people I will speak to will have to share. And by the way, everyone has right to their own opinion…. I just have a higher mountain to scream mine from now…lol!
3-mob.com Where do you think style will go this year in Zimbabwe?
The Lady On The Boat:We have begun to care again about things such as the clothes we wear and how we look so I see us possibly developing some form of fashion identity this year. I hope to see us move to a space where we embrace our creativity and grow it, groom it, then unleash it on the world! {insert mad scientist laugh}

The Lady On The Boat: There will be guaranteed madness in this boat, of that much I can assure you! The Lady On The Boat is here to provide a platform for the multiple voices that make up all things lifestyle in our country. I’m here to help you figure out who you are and what role you play in the grand scheme of things, but I am not your mom so I’m not here to cushion your feelings – somethings just can’t be said nicely, saka mongondiregerera in advance ka! But above all else, by the end of this year, I want everyone who gets access to this site – reader, contributor or interviewee – to say they gained a pearl or two of wisdom from their interaction with us.
