Tehn Diamond To Headline A Cape Town Festival

Zimbabwean rapper Tehn Diamond will perform at this year’s Mother City Live arts festival in Cape Town, 3-mob.com can exclusively reveal.

The two-day showpiece event runs on the 27th and 28th of November 2015.

We asked Tehn what he felt like especially with the current status of Zimbabwe hip hop in African markets:

It feels amazing to be honest. At my core I’m a performing artist, so the opportunity to ply my trade in front of a fresh audience is priceless. And like my earlier invitation to Senegal, this just confirms what I’ve always believed about Zim Hip-Hop’s true potential.

What will he be performing?

Seeing as the festival is in November, by which time my album will be out, I’m gonna be hitting them with The Perfect Tehn.

And will there be any collabos?

Yes for sure!! Its a two day festival, but I’ve already made plans to stay for a week. Specifically to get some time to collab & create.

Pretty exciting if you ask us.

Then we asked Mother City Live’s Tashinga Mutakwa why they chose Tehn and the sort:

There’s no doubt that there’s been a need for Tehn to visit this part of the world for a long time now. He’s a name we all know here. But I think the reason we decided to book him was the few moments we caught him on the HIFA stage. He’s brilliant. Festival quality!

Mother City Live says it has about 30 music/dance acts this year although there will be loads of other artists from different disciplines.

They also say because of the huge Zimbabwean community there, they will be looking at bringing more artists from the other side of Limpopo in the future.
