Streaming platform has announced a reduction in prices for its mobile plan across Africa.
The new price will see the mobile price at R39 per month or USD2.99. That is down from R49 and USD3.99 respectively.
Mobile packages are designed for subscribers who only watch the service on a mobile device like a phone or tablet.
Speaking about the price change, Yolisa Phahle, MultiChoice Group CEO for Connected Video, said, “We know that consumers are under pressure at the moment and we believe this change will be appreciated by our mobile customers as will the decision not to increase any of our other prices. We have our most exciting slate of Showmax Originals this year and look forward to more of our subscribers enjoying our proudly African stories.”
Showmax is a subsidiary of pan-African video entertainment company, Multichoice.
