Shoko Festival Announces Hub Un-conference & New Website

On the 25th of September the opening day of Shoko Festival workshops will be held at Alex Sports Club where local speakers and some from around the globe will converge at the Hub Un-conference to share their skills and stories with those in attendance.

This year’s Hub Un-conference program will once more light up Shoko Festival with synapse snapping trainings and talks on new media and citizen journalism. Those interested in signing up should email [email protected] . On the 26th fascinating Hub Un-conference talks will commence following up on the workshops. These will be open to the public and should not be missed.

This year two Hub Un-Conferences were held in Gweru at the Midlands State University on Wednesday 9 April 2014 and was attended 135 students and ended in Bulawayo at the National gallery on Thursday 10 April 2014 with 68 new media activists and citizen journalist present. The attendance Hub Un-conference at Shoko Festival 2014 is expected to surpass the previous installments.

The Hub is a part of Shoko Festival which is Zimbabwe’s fastest growing international arts festival brought to you by Magamba Network, the festival is set from 25th – 28th September 2014 and will feature a Hub Un-conference plus workshops and trainings on new media.
