SA Police on the hunt for suspects after Amapiano producer DJ Sumbody’s death

South African police in Gauteng say they ‘are searching for suspects and investigating circumstances that led to a shooting in Woodmead where two people died and one was seriously injured, in the early hours of Sunday, 20 November 2022’.

This is following the death of popular Ampiano producer DJ Sumbody, real name Oupa John Sefoka.

“Police received a complaint about a shooting incident at the corner of Woodmead Drive and Woodland Drive at approximately 00:30,” Cops said. “Upon arrival at the scene, police found two people inside a VW Golf with gunshot wounds. Both victims, a driver, and a passenger were certified dead on the scene. It was reported that the third victim, who was driving a BMW X5, was taken to the nearest medical care center after sustaining gunshot wounds.”

The motive for the shooting is unknown at this stage.

Sefoka’s death was confirmed earlier by his family.

He was dude to make an appearance The Secret Door night club in Pretoria on Saturday night. On Sunday he was on the bill for the All White Veuve Cliquet Picnic.

His last Intagram post was in his stories, where he was smoking a cigar and captioned it Back To Basics.
