Roil Bulawayo Arts Awards moved to November, conscious citizenship announced

The Roil Bulawayo Arts Awards (RoilBAA) have been moved to November due to the ongoing Covid-19 pandemic.

The new date is 28 November 2020, organisers announced on Monday. It was originally slated for 29 Augusts 2020.

Nominations will now open 28 August and close 18 September. The announcement of nominations will happen on 2 October. Voting lines will then open on 9 October, running until 20 November.

This year will see categories trimmed to 32. Organisers say this might shrink further depending on what is on the ground.

United Refineries will again return as title sponsors, thus RoilBAA.

Launched too was the Conscious Citizenship Strategy which will see close to 100 former winners getting hampers to assist them at a time when the pandemic has left them exposed.
