QUICK SONG REVIEW: Batsirai Shasha ft Alexio Kawara – Ndiye Muroora

Brand new music from the young and talented Batsirai Shasha called Ndiye Muroora featuring the veteran Alexio Kawara.

It feels like it comes from a space a few years ago which has sort of been abandoned in favour of the imported afro-beats sound.

The serving does feel a but fuller in sound which is what typifies the neo-township inspired sound before seen in the likes of Tanga WekwaSando and Bob Nyabinde. You may have heard a similar thing in the George Munetsi feature of Zahara’s Incwad’encane.

Not as playful but certainly does feel a bit more urbane and yet retaining and a good level of a sound that does feel like it has a sense of belonging.

Alexio is complementary, himself experienced in that sound and the depth as well as texture of his voice helps the song along.
