Prominent former ZBC broadcaster Tawanda Gudhlanga has died.
This was confirmed by the state broadcaster, via the its news account and the radio station Classic263.
Said Classic263, “Today is a dark day for us at @classic263 – waking up to the passing on of Tawanda Gudhlanga has been really hard. We know he touched us at the studios and all our listeners in different ways. May God give us strength as we face this great loss.”
Fellow broadcaster Moe Chanda said Gudhlanga succumbed to Covid-19, “Warwadzisa 💔💔💔 .. can’t believe this .. .. you always said “…life is Gooodlanga..” I’m mad at you .. To hell with this #COVID19 .. go well my friend #TawandaGudhlanga.”
On radio he hosted a lot of programmes for ZBC, on radio and television.
Gudhlanga was also General Manager of Zimbabwe’s first regional station Ya FM.
In 2017, he won the NAMA Award for Outstanding Journalist.
