PRESS STATEMENT: ZIMA Postponed Due To ‘Logistical Challenges’

We have received a statement confirming the earlier(Tuesday evening) movement of this year’s edition of the Zimbabwe Music Awards to the end of the month.

3-mob.com announced that the awards had been moved but no new date had been advised although 29 october ahd been whispered in our ears.

The official statement of the ZIMA organising committee reads:

The Zimbabwean Music Awards would like to announce that the awards ceremony scheduled for Friday the 3 rd of October has been moved to Wednesday the 29 th of October 2014 at the same venue, the HICC.

This move has been necessitated by some logistical challenges which have resulted in delays in the show production. At a meeting held earlier today, the ZIMA organising committee decided that in order to deliver the world class event that we have promised to our artists and to the public in general it was important for us to move the event to allow us enough time to prepare fully.

From the beginning we said ZIMA would put together an event of international standards and we will not compromise on that guarantee.

We have since briefed all our nominees who we are glad to say appreciate our position.

At this time, we would like to express our most sincere apologies to the artists, performers and all stakeholders for any inconvenience resulting from this postponement.

In closing, may we, once again, assure everybody that ZIMA 2014 will take place and it will be the entertainment event of the year.

Tickets will still be valid and can be purchased from any Zimticket outlets in Chicken Inn or Talkcity, Arundel Music shop, Tech Tools Avondale and the ZIMA office at Construction House.

We’ll bring you more from the fall-out.
