Jazz diva Dudu Manhenga has posted a new poem on her website.
She says she never knew she was a poet – well she writes songs so here must have been a hint of it.
This one which she shared on her site is called impostor and is heavily steeped in her religious beliefs.
Peace in Eden
Nothing hidden
There is no heathen
Fruit eaten
Peace broken
Sent away with no token
Now we’re not talking
He says keep walking
Shame sets in
Pain sets in
Cain brought in
Gain not in
Sweat
Get wet
Toil
Wail
Mumbles brings he Abel
Grumbles say he’s able
Murder
We shudder
Now he has to work harder
Move further
Go yonder
You are a bother
He is not amused
He has been refused
His own creation
Is this the best reaction?
He plans for redemption
He has no other option
Coz he is a transformer
Not a deform-er
D’ devil
D’ evil
He sowed that seed
Please take heed
It’s God you need
Return to him full speed
Just yield
He will lead
I bring good news
You won’t be consumed
That’s just assumed
Though He anger
You are not in danger
Just surrender
He won’t push you asunder
Grace, you are upheld
Punishment is withheld
Mercy when you fall
You won’t go to hell
So stand tall
Don’t be mild
He is on your side
His love is wide
Gentle as a dove
Steadfast love
Go on make your move
And get back your groove
All His are in tune
Look at the moon
Check the sun
Flowers in bloom
No doom
He is coming soon
Maybe at noon
Creator
I am a narrator
And a partaker
Music maker
Is there discord?
You’re not in one accord?
Who played that chord?
Isn’t that odd
You must decode
Find the fraud
Don’t be proud
This robber’s common
Get your weapon
Arrest the impostor
Put his face on this poster
