Nobuntu announce temporary changes as two members expect babies

Award-winning Bulawayo troupe Nobuntu have announced two changes to their lineup as two of their members are expecting babies.

Zanele Manhenga and Heather Dube are expecting their bundles of joy later on this year. This means that the two mothers-to-be will not be joining the rest of the team on tour during the September-December (2020) season as they will be attending to their parental duties. In the absence of Zanele and Heather, two seasoned performers Patience Maseko and Thandy Dhlana, will fill in their shoes.

Maseko and Dhlana have featured for the group previously when a member is not available so their integration should be seamless.

Thandy boasts of an album Ongaziwayo which has enjoyed good airplay on local radio stations. Patience, a renowned singer, actress and dancer, has also worked with several theatre groups, locally and internationally.

Before going on leave, Zandile and Heather will still be part of the Canada (23 February at the TD Sunfest in London) and Bermuda trip (28-29 February at the Bermuda Festival of the Performing Arts), as they are still fit for upcoming shows lined up in those two countries.

We wish them well.
