A new feature film, Qiniso will be released in Bulawayo this coming February.
It is a feature length film directorial debut for Lenny Mdawini Sibanda who also wrote the movie.
It features the work of some of the leading lights in the Bulawayo circles, Lady Tshawe, BokyEnn, Anelisi Maliki, Philani A Nyoni, Thorne, Arthur Makoane, Gilmore T Moyo, Leroy M. Ndlovu and Henne Nkalanga
Launching on the .7th of February 2015 at the Rainbow cinema at Bulawayo Centre, it will run until the 21st.
The story is about a journalist investigating the death of a Bulawayo lawyer, Nkosana Dube, murdered by someone close to him. His wife, her cousin and his young brother have their own versions of what happened. On top of that the investigating detective has his own version as well as a nyanga called Sigidi.
Exclusively for that night, the cast and crew will be present to interact with the audience over cocktails and speak about the movie after a screening. As a bonus, there will be a special screening of an excerpt from Jane The Ghost, an upcoming film by the same media house, Ya-sibo? Media.
It is produced by Thubelihle Moyo,Kudakwashe Takundwa and Philani A Nyoni. Cinematography was done by Ernest Mackina.
Tickets are $5 on the launch night and $3 during the run.
