MUSIC VIDEO REVIEW: Trevor Dongo – Kwatabva

Folks, Trevor Dongo has got his work boots and suit on.

He just dropped a new video for a signature sound song Kwatabva.

It has the elements which takes the Highfields-born crooner to his delicate roots, with caricatures of the taste of the dusty urban with bits of concrete.

Kwatabva is a love video, without him expressing any performative intimacy. Trevor outsources that to a young couple expressing the simplest expressions of ghetto love.

The need for a ‘surprise’ or embarrassing ending is predictable, perhaps an expression that happy forever after is a bit difficult in his world. It is about continued conflict and he says in the song, Rudo harwusi nyore (love isn’t easy).
