MUSIC VIDEO REVIEW: Anita Jaxson ft I AM KING & Libra Liege – Famba

Don’t tell anyone we told you this.

Anita Jaxson could genuinely cut it as a full-time gospel artist, based on her performance on Famba, featuring I AM KING and Libra Liege.

The song offers wholesomeness as its main serving, with a collaborative effort from everyone, exuding the essence of what it sells – A walk with God in life.

It is a well-put-together video with fairly good storytelling. The imagery is crisp, the colouring tasty, coupled with a quintessential between drip and the humble.

What is a bit jarring is the guns. One would feel that a religious song should not have guns in it. And it is part of a worrying trend where guns have become more visible in local music videos. And while we do not want to be seen as stifling storytelling, it is a worry because the open display of weaponry does speak towards a trivialisation of violence.
