Off his latest album, Bibo Worldwide, Bryan K dropped the visuals for the song Dzemabwe.
The song is something of a call-to-arms, slapped with pride in one’s country and all that. It is a good listen, mastered by the phenomenal Audius Mtawarira.
The video feels like rustic pottery, a lot of edge and some usefulness. The music is inspirational but the video somehow has images but not quite a story knitted together. It shows struggle and then an aerial shot of beauty but leaves the viewer simply mired in the struggle. For example, what is the significance of the empty rubbish repository and the setting he finds himself in compared to the song. While we are not asking for the obvious, knitting the story together is bit hard here.
It is not a terrible watch, that said. It will pass for a video that does some job. Just what that is, we are not sure.
