Makanonoka is produced by super-talented longtime co-conspirator DJ Tamuka, with the usual levels of exquisite production. The chorus is a earworm.
And it shows also an increasing understanding of the genre’s production in Zimbabwe.
The lyrics are both celebratory as much as they are an appreciation of blessings as they come, without excesses in the pastoral. He sings in multiple languages, with lyrical dexterity.
You see the layered feeling in his voice, even as he does not bring it to excess.
