NEW MUSIC: Ammara Brown – Ode To Mama

Songstress Ammara Brown has released a new track and made it available for download.

The song is called Ode To Mama.

Ammara lose her mother on 12 January 2012 and she recorded the song on the second anniversary of her mother’s death at SK7 studios.

She says of her loss:

It cut very deep, as she was the earth that held my feet steady. As shattered as my world had appeared at the time, I had temporarily forgotten that she had spent my lifetime preparing me for the days she would no longer be on earth.
Like many of us, I never told her enough, when she was still alive was that, it was my honour to have witnessed her life. I am so grateful to have learned from someone as great as her. My mother taught me that I could reach the sky, if I believe and focused. Today I live by it and teach my son the same. She is my role model. She is still my definition of love.
Now my hope is that peace is upon her, because I know her babies are going to be alright.
I’ve decided to share this acoustic version with you, so much sooner than the album release, because I know thousands of you are going through these emotions, and if you’re not, you will.
