Miombo Magic Festival Blockbuster Lineup

This weekend’s two-day Miombo Magic sees a line-up featuring some of the best of the new generation of musicians.

Set in the bushy Christon Bank area – we’re told not to worry about snakes – where people will party, sleep over in tents and have a whale of time away from the madness of Harare, this festival is essentially a departure from a lot that folks have been used to.

They have gone all out with a cast that will delight revelers – you can’t write about a party without that phrase.

So who will be there? First of all, all the cool people.

But we know you’re asking who will be performing, Think Mokoomba – yeah those dudes are back. Also Tariro NeGitare, Chikwata263, Jam Signal, Macy&TheRed, Selmor Mtukudzi, Toby2Shoes, Charles Summerfield & Urj, Zimboita, Selmor Mtukudzi, Drum Cafe, Evicted and Gwarimba just to name most of the lot that that will be there.

The fun part? You get to sleep over, in the bush. Again we reveal, we are told there are no snakes.

Unfortunately today – Friday – is the final day of ticket sales so erm, yeah. The last tickets still on sale at Folio bookstores in Borrowdale and Arundel, or the Alliance Francaise.

Miombo is on 17 and 18 May 2014.
