Zimbabwean reggae star Mic Inity has released a statement thanking his fans for their support following an article in mainstream media a few weeks ago alleging that he had shown a gun in public.
While the matter is still sub judice meaning he really can’t comment on the specifics of the case, Inity has used Facebook to thank his fans for their support in what he termed, ‘the most difficult time of my life’.
It reads in full:
Greetings Family:
In recent weeks I have faced the most difficult time of my life and without your support it would have been extra hard to combat the negativity and warfare leveled against the Mic Inity brand and the man I am, Mike Madamombe.
The support I have received from you – a text, a call, a re-assuring smile in public, Facebook and so many other reassuring expressions – has been overwhelming.
Jah knows how hard we have to work in this life, only for evil men to try and take away, firstly the love of my chosen profession and the means to look after my wife and children.
I thank you from the bottom of my heart for standing by me an believing in me and look forward to years ahead where we will all experience the heights of Jah works.
May Jah guide, bless and protect you all. Mwari ndewedu tese.
Let Jah Music play
Mic Inity denies the newspaper account.
