Sungura star Alick Macheso has lost three of his band members who left over working conditions.
Jonas Kasamba, Obert Gomba and Donald Gogo left over a salary dispute. It is said that Macheso suddenly cut salaries and allowances by as much as 50% a few months ago. Efforts to get the situation resolved management apparently fell on deaf ears. This has forced some members to leave and look for greener pastures apparently.
Kasamba is a chanter, while Gomba is drummer and Gogo plays lead an rhythm guitar.
Orchestra Mberikwazvo members accuse Macheso of neglecting them. They point to the fact that he sent his daughter to study abroad while the band members live from hand to mouth.
This won’t be a good look for the Zora Butter star who was recently appointed as the Red Cross humanitarian ambassador.
