M-Net will debut a documentary on the current novel coronavirus, Covid-19, pandemic on Wednesday at 19.00hrs.
The doccie, Ripple Effect: First Wave, covers 14 countries on five continents looking at a still mysterious threat that has brought the world to a grinding halt.
UK podcaster Hannah Maguire narrates the work captured and produced in six weeks. It features the personal stories of Covid-19 victims, survivors, frontline workers, and their families and friends. It also weaves together the voices of the topmost experts from around the globe in various fields such as infectious diseases, viral pathology, world economics, political science, and more. They explain the cause and effect of this virus in simple terms.
It is the worth of Kevin Fox, Ellen Douglas, Liz Levenson, and Benn Watson and a co-production between Cactus Tree Entertainment and Toronto-based RMI. It is dedicated to Levenson’s father who died on 11 April from Covid-19.
If you miss the debut you can still catch a repeat on Friday 15 May at 08.30hrs and Saturday 16 May at 11.20hrs. It is available on channel 901 straight an hour later.
