The 12th edition of the Let Them Trust Schools Arts Festival roars to life on 26 and 27 July 2024 at Churchill Boys School.

Themed Tamuka, the festival aims to be a spectacular showcase of Zimbabwean talent and creativity.

The festival will feature a variety of genres, each exploring this distinct theme:

  • Poetry, Theatre, and Visual Arts: Addressing Drug and Substance Abuse
  • Dance: Emphasising the concept of Ubuntu
  • Fashion: Highlighting Afrocentric with Zimbabwean Fusion
  • Music: Incorporating a song by Gary Mapanzure

Nyanga South Member of Parliament, Hon. Supa Mandiwanzira, is the guest of honour.

Over two days, the event will highlight the talents of school children, emerging artists, and renowned artists across Zimbabwe, providing a platform for young voices to be heard and celebrated.

Friday’s schedule includes Theatre, Poetry, Traditional Music, and Dance performances, while Saturday will feature Music, Dance, and Fashion shows. Visual Arts will be on permanent display throughout the festival.

Some of the leading lights scheduled to take part include the enchanting storyteller Dr Ignatius Mabasa, famed poet Chirikure Chirukure, reggae maestro Jr Bantan & the Runit Band, songbird Pah Chihera and the Tendex Band.

Let Them Trust has encouraged corporates to support this worthy cause by including the festival in their budgets and calendars. A fixture of Zimbabwe’s arts scene for 12 years, this year’s event promises to be the biggest and best yet.

The festival runs from 8 am to 4:30 pm, offering an opportunity to celebrate Zimbabwe’s rich cultural heritage and support the next generation of artists.
