Legendary RnB singer-songwriter James Ingram dead at 66

Grammy Award-winning and chart-topping US RnB singer James Ingram has died.

The news was shared by his friend Debbie Allen on Twitter.

“I have lost my dearest friend and creative partner James Ingram to the Celestial Choir,” Allen tweeted. “He will always be cherished, loved and remembered for his genius, his love of family and his humanity. I am blessed to have been so close. We will forever speak his name.”

No other news is available on cause of death and the works.

In a decades-long career, Ingram grabbed a pair of Grammy’s and two Billboard number 1 hits.

In these parts he will be remembered for his hit single I Don’t Have The Heart as well as the duet with Linda Rondstadt for Somewhere Out There.

He wrote songs for Michael Jackson and George Benson among others.
