LATE BUT NOT LATE LATE REVIEW: Tehn Diamond ft Dhadza D – Simudza Gumbo

Award-winning Zimbabwean rapper Tehn Diamond has dropped the first single off his upcoming much-awaited debut album The Perfect Tehn.

On it his accosted the skills of producers Begottensun and fellow Few Kings-mate Take Fizzo with percussion from Blessing ‘Bled’ Chimanga. On top of that he has thrown in Dancehall chanter Dhadza D on the hook.

It’s Tehn grown from different space from when we first heard him to an artist unafraid to give air to his music as he moves from the confines of the digital production space to the rarefied space of music with that fusion influence. His skills as a rapper have never been contested but seeing him coming into a soundspace that still remains true to the heads but also steps into a realm of being embedded in the breathe-space of the African sound-psyche, is a sign of growth.
