Kwese TV enters Zim and here are their rates

Kwese TV has entered in Zimbabwe through an Econet Media partnership with a company called Dr Dish.

Dr Dish is licensed with the Broadcasting Authority of Zimbabwe(BAZ) and will see the company distribute Kwese content via a deal struck with Econet Media in 2016.

The message going around on its packages is

Kwese TV is now here visit your nearest Econet Shop.
Kwese initial $49 and get Free Installation
Monthly subs $29
Weekly subs $9
Three Days $5

Enjoy easy payments Bond, USD, RTGS, Ecocash zvese

It is the bond note, RTGS and EcoCash options that will give the new entrant an advantage given payments for DStv are made in hard currency only, the kind of which is scarce in Zimbabwe at the minute.

While Kwese TV will be a welcome option for many, that they only have rights to only Saturday afternoon match for the very popular English Premier League might have issues.

That said they have NBA and Aussie cricket (in Australia)  as well as long with the other continental broadcaster, Euro2020 and World Cup 2018 rights.

At 60 channels, if you don’t care for that, it can interest you.

UPDATE: The Broadcast Authority of Zimbabwe has said Dr Dish does not have a license to distribute Kwese TV. Read their statement here
