Kwese Sports brings Premier League to ZBC

So remember that deal we told you about a few months ago in which Econet Media’s Kwese Sports signed a deal with England’s blockbuster Premier League to show one match a weekend on free-to-air TV.

Anyway Kwesé Free Sports has struck a deal ZBC to show a single Premier League match every Saturday afternoon in a deal that will excite fans who cannot access higher subscription services.

It makes sense because as free-to-air platform what they will want to do is get the content to as many people as possible.

The deal also extends to Olympic coverage. Sadly this comes too late for the nation to watch the Mighty Warriors and our swimming legends but ZBC will be lapping up that 6 hours of broadcasting buddy.

They have announced set top boxes with free to air content but that always takes time to take root so this gives them an inside lane.

There has been little to no movement in terms of access to content via mobile though.

Mind you, we’re not sure we’re too keen on watching football on our phones. On a road trip or while waiting for the wife to finish her long chat with her mom after braai, maybe.
