KwaMereki Set For Face-lift

The beleaguered Mereki Business Centre is to receive a face-lift with help from the Zimbabwe Tourism Authority.

The popular outdoor spot which was closed a couple of times this year because of health hazard issues will benefit from a drive by ZTA to turn it into an international township tourism destination.

That should mean that the place’s sanitation and other standards should go up.

While this is laudable we wonder if the quality of health and sanitation services for the whole area will improving. It would be awful if you lived in a septic tank  just down the road from a five-star hotel and that hotel is said to represent your area.

We suppose Mereki is a start.
