Kenny Rogers dies

Country music legend Kenny Rogers had died.

Rogers dominated the music charts in the 1970s and 1980s completing over 200 weeks charting high.

For Zimbabweans his hits ran from specialised shows to the mainstream with iconic tracks like The Gambler, We’ve Got Tonight and Islands In The Stream. He was a longtime collaborator with Dolly Parton.

Some of the cool kids will know of him through the cover by Jamaican star Busy Signal for the song The Gambler.

He was 81.
