Just A Few Words On The Mafikizolo Show

So Mafikizolo were in town on Friday in a show their fans came out in numbers to watch.

Billed also was the legendary Oliver Mtukudzi and a few other artists.

By all accounts the performances by the main acts, Tuku and Mafikizolo were OK and awesome respectively.

So away from that was the disappointment of a poorly organised show again. The numbers were huge and the venue was packed, proper full house. They stopped letting people in but Simmad, the organisers were still selling tickets. There were people we talked to who had advanced tickets who failed to get in. That isn’t a good look, people. Not cool at all.

Not only that, the presence of the police with dogs caused a mini stampede. Panic sets in when the police are about with some fearing teargas would be thrown into the crowd –  such is the form of Chihuri’s finest at the moment.

Over to you National Arts Council.
